It removes translucency from slider's background for some reason, you can set an opaque color using custom theme and it won't change, but regular slider will also be opaque then. Slider that appears when you change brightness is a different element, it also has an additional elevation (that adds a shadow, can be clearly seen on white backgrounds). It will flash with something anyway :)
